Written by Pierre Dahlman | Feb 5, 2025 12:15:45 PM

We’re rolling out some exciting updates in Starlify! This time, we’re giving you even more flexibility with Custom Groups. Let’s take a look at what’s new!

New features ✌️

Custom groups – Organize, structure, and visualize

You can now create your groups to structure your nodes in a way that makes sense. Here’s what’s new:

Here's a short list of some of the things we've updated:

  • Create groups from selected nodes
  • Create empty groups
  • Build structured layouts
  • Search tags can be saved in node formations
  • Draw tool for custom groups

Custom groups – Organize, structure, and visualize

Easily “break out” nodes into a new group for better organization. This helps you organize complex graphs and focus on specific areas, making it easier to manage large integration landscapes and collaborate with your team.

PS! Remember to save your groups as node formations, or they will disappear.

Create empty groups

Highlight specific areas in your graph, even without nodes inside. An empty group is like any draw object rectangle: You can use it to highlight areas of interest to mark future expansions, create placeholder areas for upcoming projects, or draw attention to critical zones in your architecture. This will enhance clarity and planning.

PS! Nodes must be pinned when using groups as drawing objects.

Build structured layouts

Use groups to create meaningful architectures, such as a three-layer structure or custom visualizations. Structured layouts make complex systems easier to understand and present, helping you easily explain intricate integrations to your team or clients.

Search tags can be saved in node formations

You can now save search tags in node formations, allowing you to categorize and filter critical systems, such as those containing GDPR data. This makes locating critical information, maintaining compliance, and streamlining workflows easier.

Draw tool for custom groups

Do you need a quick way to create a group? Press “G” to activate the draw tool and outline a group directly in your workspace.

With these updates, your workspace becomes even more structured, customizable, and easy to navigate.
